Lauren F:
hi again, well i live in enland but sometimes i hav to travel to france and germany to dance. i have twised my ankle alot too especially when i was doin gymnastics and i was doing my dance and i did my double back flip and landed on my ankle!! it must of been hard for you if you were ill!! i have a competition this year and its on my birthday hehe. and i love lyrical dances too!! did you have a good christmas? what did you get? have you ever had a competition on your birthday??? good luck in your next competition or audition!!!Maddie Says...
No, I have never had a competition on my birthday but I always jump up in age category for Nationals because my birthday is the month we go. That’s hard. I had a great Christmas and I got lots of Webkinz and clothes for them. I also got a new bike. Its cool. Thanks for the good luck. I was at a cb last week….had to dance on my hurt foot, but I didn’t mind. Mom was kind of upset because there were 4 groups for cb’s. I was the only blonde and they had me partnered with a red haired girl for my big sister. The older brothers only had black hair and so did all the girls who were to play the college aged sister. We had to wait for hours for the cb…I didn’t mind though, it was fun! I was sad that they didn’t have anybody to match me though. Lately that is what keeps happening all the time. Its frustrating.
Laurie Asked:
1.How does it feel to have an official fansite? Do you like it?2.Are people mean to you at school?? OR do they treat you nicely? I hope they do :) YOu are so cute and nice!!
Maddie Says...
HI Laurie, Thanks for asking. Yes I LOVE having a fansite. Its really cool getting to answer everybody’s questions. Caroline makes the site a lot of fun and my friends and I like all the games she put on it.People treat me nice at school, but sometimes I have had girls get jealous. At least that’s what mom says….last year I had somebody not being very nice to me and she even tried getting me in trouble this year. I just try to be nice to her as much as possible. I try not to talk about acting at school either.
Caitlyn Asked:
maddie you are amazing1.what is your favorite thing to do when you are not dancing or acting?
2.do you have a fan email?
Maddie Says...
Thanks Caitlyn. I like watching TV shows like Hannah Montana, Suite Life and Wizards of Waverly Place. I also like riding my new bike I got for Christmas. Oh and playing on webkinz and using our new WII. Its really fun. I LOVE guitar Hero. Oh I forgot about riding horses and soccer.Right now I don't but I may in the future. Thanks for asking. I do love fan mail, but it was a little hard at Christmas time. The post office messed up our box lock and the key didn’t work. It took my mom a bunch of times to get them to fix it.
Adi Asked:
What kind of advice would you give to advanced dancers, such as me?Maddie Says...
What do you mean? Do you like to compete? Do you dance for fun or on stage? I guess it matters what you want to do. I love competing in dance, but decided that this is my last year. I still want to train, but its hard to compete at the higher levels and miss as much as I do during comp season. I also want to try cheerleading and my dad said I would have to choose. Do you like cheerleading? What is your favorite dance style? Do you want to be a dancer when you grow up? My choreographer is a professional dancer in the New York Ballet. She is awesome. She was the youngest principle hired at 17. Her name is Tyler Peck and she is beautiful. Do you know she moved there when she was in high school I think. Maybe younger, I forget. Away from her parents to dance. That’s amazing to me. She really was focused and wanted to dance so she practiced a lot and now is really good. I guess I am trying to say if you want to dance for a job then practice hard and don’t give up. Sometimes its hard to stick with something. Things aren’t always easy. I know. Its been a really hard year with acting. I have gotten so close so many times and then lost out when its down to just me and one other girl. That’s hard. It makes me think about why I am doing it. Mom always tells me if its meant to be it will be. OK but that does not help sometimes. I just know I love acting and so I keep trying.Your Friend,
Maddie
Lauren F. Asked:
heya maddie,How do you cope dancing most of the time? I do dancing and my mum gets annoyed when i have competitions because they are usually far away!! Have you ever injured yourself dancing? thanks
-Lauren F.
Maddie Says...
This year will be the farthest I have ever traveled for dance. I am really wanting to go to Florida to compete for the World competition. Its going to be hard though because the week before we are supposed to be in Hawaii. I really really want to go though. How far do you travel for dance? Some people come from out of state. That is far. We usually go all over California and then to Vegas.
Yes I have hurt myself. Infact I sprained my ankle in Oct or November. I forget. I missed all the Christmas recital practices but learned the dances the week of the recital so my teachers let me dance in it. I kind of hurt it tumbling and dancing. It was hard because it was my turning ankle and you know that’s not good to hurt that. I had been working hard at learning my new solo and kind of twisted it at dance. Then I was excited at gymnastics practice because I got my back tucks by myself and kept practicing them. I landed wrong a few times and ended up hurting my ankle. I know I have pulled muscles before right before a competition, but never anything really serious. The hardest was competing after being so sick last year.
I got really tired easily and it was hard to do simple jumps and turn sections. My legs would get tired. Dancing is hard, but its fun. Do you like everybody cheering for you at the competitions? I Love it! I really like lyrical dances with emotion, but sometimes forget to smile in them. Sometimes I get tired of the competition and my friends getting upset about the trophies. I wish they didn’t because I don’t care. It doesn’t matter who wins and gets platnim.I don’t know how to spell that. I feel sad when my friends get mad if the judges don’t give them a high score. I just want them to be happy and have fun. I don’t like making mistakes though and that’s why I like having more solos. If I make a mistake I have another chance to do better.
Keep dancing!
